About Heather Sizemore

Heather Sizemore has lived in Oklahoma for most of her life. She earned her A.A., and B.A., in Political Science at Oklahoma University, and her J.D., from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dogs, Augie and Leo pictured here.

Guardian Ad Litem

GUARDIAN AD LITEM: 


A guardian ad litem (GAL) is a Court appointed unbiased advocate tasked with investigating and making recommendations regarding the minor child’s best interest. Although the parties are typically responsible for the GAL's retainer and fees, the GAL does not represent either party. 

Visitation

VISITATION RIGHTS:


Most Courts have a County Standard Visitation Schedule and a County Long-Distance Visitation Schedule. The Court may add or subtract a parents visitation time based on the best interest of the minor child. 

Child Support

CHILD SUPPORT:


Child Support Issue calculated pursuant to the Oklahoma Child Support Guidelines unless a deviation is held to be in the minor child’s best interest. 

Parental Alienation

PARENTAL ALIENATION:

When a parent uses words, actions, or behaviors to portray the other parent as unsafe, dangerous, abuse, or in a false light to change the child's perception  of the other parent. 

DIVORCE With MINOR CHILDREN:


A Petition for Divorce and Dissolution of Marriage with minor child at issue must be on file with the Court for a minimum of ninety (90) days.


A Certificate of Completion Parenting With Resilience for each parent must be filed with Court before your Decree of Divorce can be finalized. 

Paternity & Custody:

PATERNITY & CUSTODY: 


Paternity can be established by executing a Acknowledgment of Paternity,  Genetic Testing, or Adjudication via an Acknowledgment on the Court Record.


Paternity must be established before Custody rights are awarded. There are several types of custody.


-Sole Custody 

-Joint Custody with or without a Primary Custodian
